Senior US Accountant

Own a portfolio of US small-business clients across monthly accounting close, tax preparation, and day-to-day financial questions. You will work hands-on, keep accurate records, and explain what the numbers mean in plain English, collaborating with our US team on complex judgments.

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Bangalore. Success means timely, well-supported closes, reliable filing preparation, and clients who know what is happening without chasing you.

• Own bookkeeping, reconciliations, the general ledger, workpapers, and monthly financial statements for your client portfolio.
• Prepare individual and business tax work and supporting documentation; resolve or escalate complex issues with the US team before filing.
• Collect the right information early and communicate deadlines, missing evidence, and material issues directly to clients.
• Investigate differences, document your judgments, and make review easy for the next person.
• Turn recurring work into clear checklists and improve them when a miss reveals a gap.
• Use accounting software, AI, and automation thoughtfully; verify outputs and remain accountable for the work.

• 3+ years of hands-on accounting, tax preparation, or public-practice experience, ideally supporting US clients.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP, US individual and business tax workflows, and tools such as QuickBooks and the Intuit or Thomson Reuters tax suites.
• Clear professional English, written and spoken, sufficient to explain accounting issues directly to US business owners.
• Sound reconciliation and spreadsheet skills; organized workpapers and comfort with Google Workspace and new tools.
• Ability to own several client deadlines, ask for evidence, and raise problems early.
• Based in or able to work hybrid from Bangalore, with a shifted schedule providing meaningful daily overlap with US Eastern time.

USD 1,500–2,250 per month, depending on relevant experience and demonstrated fit for the role. Full-time, hybrid in Bangalore, with working hours of 1:00 PM–10:00 PM Asia/Kolkata.
