Company
Laya is a modern accounting, tax, and advisory firm for businesses that want predictable monthly closes, decision-ready reporting, and a clear path from accounting to tax and advisory. We pair licensed experts with technology we build ourselves, and we run industry-specific playbooks — from startups and agencies to restaurants, retail, and professional services — so our clients' books reflect how their business actually works. We are a distributed team, working across the US, India, Latin America, and the Philippines.
Our product is financial truth, so we hire and retain against four values. They are ordered from least trainable to most trainable, and when two of them collide, the higher one wins.
- Integrity. Always doing the right thing and owning your actions — not situational, and not dependent on whether anyone is watching. The numbers are what the numbers are. Mistakes surface immediately and travel upward, and we own our decisions in writing.
- Talent. The raw ability to reason through a problem you have never seen before and to take on new domains quickly. We hold a high bar and would rather leave a seat open than fill it below that bar — and we owe real development to everyone who clears it.
- Grit. Doing whatever it takes to deliver an outcome you have claimed as yours. Setbacks produce a next step, not an explanation, and the unglamorous work gets the same commitment as the interesting work.
- Expertise. The judgment that comes from having seen the work — many clients, many edge cases, many closes. It ranks last only because it is the one thing we can build here; the first three you bring with you.
How we work follows from that. We define the outcome before the work starts — what "done" means, by when, and who owns it. We turn everything we do repeatedly into written process, because a process that lives in one person's head is a liability, not an asset. And we delight clients through the absence of surprise: reliability, proactivity, and clarity, always inside scope.
Everyone here is measured on the same three dimensions they were hired against — Reasoning, Process, and Communication.
Summary
Bring new clients to Laya. You will own the pipeline from first contact to signed engagement: building target lists, running outbound by email, phone, and LinkedIn, working the leads marketing sends you, qualifying every conversation against our client profile, and moving qualified prospects to a signed agreement. The founder joins closing calls; you run everything before and around them.
This is an outbound-heavy sales role. Most of your week is prospecting and first conversations with US business owners; the rest is pipeline management, follow-up, and handoff to the onboarding team. It is full-time and in-person, based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with US Eastern working hours. You are paid on outcomes: a base plus commission on every client you convert, for each client's first 12 months.
Success means a full, accurate pipeline, a steady flow of qualified first meetings, and new clients who were sold what we actually deliver — so they stay.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain target account lists that match Laya's client profile; research each account before the first touch.
- Run multi-channel outbound sequences (email, phone, LinkedIn) at volume, and personalize the ones that matter.
- Work inbound and marketing-sourced leads within the same business day; qualify or disqualify quickly and record why.
- Run discovery and first calls: understand the business, its finance setup, and what the owner needs; set up the founder-led closing call with a written summary.
- Keep every opportunity, next step, and owner current in Apollo and Home Base; forecast weekly with reasons.
- Hand signed clients to onboarding with accurate scope, pricing, and context, so the first month has no surprises.
- Improve the outbound playbook: what messaging works, what objections repeat, which segments convert, written down for the next person.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of outbound B2B sales to US buyers, with a track record of booked meetings and closed revenue you can describe in numbers.
- Clear, confident professional English for daily phone and video conversations with US business owners, including objection handling and pricing discussions.
- Comfortable with sales tooling (Apollo or equivalent, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, a CRM) and with building your own lists rather than waiting for them.
- Enough financial literacy to hold a credible conversation about bookkeeping, close, reporting, and tax with a business owner. Accounting experience is not required; curiosity about how businesses make money is.
- Persistence with discipline: daily activity, specific follow-up, accurate records, and no shortcuts on qualification.
- Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and available to work in person during US Eastern working hours.
Benefits & Compensation
Base: USD 2,000 per month, paid in USD.
Commission: 10% of all revenue collected from every client you convert, whether you sourced the lead or marketing did, for each client's first 12 months with Laya. Commission is paid monthly on cash collected, so a client who stays pays you twelve times. There is no cap.
Quota and earnings: your year-one quota is USD 750,000 in new annual contract value, meaning the first-year fees of the clients you sign. At quota, those clients generate USD 75,000 in commission over their first 12 months, on top of USD 24,000 in base. Because commission follows cash, about USD 41,000 of it is paid in year one (roughly USD 65,000 total with base, assuming signings are spread evenly through the year) and the rest in year two. A second year at quota brings year-two earnings to about USD 99,000.
This is a full-time, independent-contractor role based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, supporting US clients.
